Did you know that wildlife rehabilitators in Alberta are prohibited from helping some animals like Bighorn sheep, elk calves, pronghorn calves, Lynx, Bobcats, Cougars, Coyotes, Wolves, Amphibians, Bats, Skunks and Raccoons? The current guideline in Alberta is to kill any orphaned Grizzly and Black bear cubs, Wolf pups, Coyote pups and Cougar kittens, plus some ungulate fawns, even though other provinces and countries successfully rehab these wild animals all of the time. Speakers will be Travis Ripley, Executive Director of F & W, MLA Dr. David Swan and Lisa Dahlseide, Conservation Biologist. Alberta Environment and Parks are reviewing wildlife management polices in 2018. Join this event and learn about current polices and share your thoughts. This is your Alberta, get involved.
