Wolf Awareness Week - Calgary and Edmonton

10/16/2015

National Wolf Awareness Week occurs every year from October 12 - 18. This year, Wolf Matters partnered up with Wolf Awareness Inc out of BC to present two different awareness events titled Wolves: A Story to Tell  in Alberta.

One event took place in Calgary at the John Dutton Theatre and featured guest speakers Carolyn Campbell from the Alberta Wilderness Association and wild canid expert Shelley Alexander. This was followed by a screening of the Pyramid Productions documentary Unnatural Enemies and then a panel discussion with Victoria Lucasik.

Edmonton's event took place at Noorish Conscious Eatery and featured two separate screenings of Unnatural Enemies, followed by guest speaker author and conservationist Kevin Van Tighem.

Funding for these events was made possible by the recent grant from LUSH handmade cosmetics in which Wolf Matters has partnered with under their Charity Pot Program.

Once again, because of LUSHs generosity and our partnership with this amazing company, Wolf Matters has been able to erect these beautiful billboards on Highway 2 near Dewinton to spread awareness about Alberta’s wolves! Thank you LUSH for your generosity and compassion!

These beautiful photos used on the billboards were generously donated by John E. Marriott Canadian Wildlife and Nature Photography .
